For kraft pieces, I’ve had the best luck slipping each stack into glassine, sandwiching with thin chipboard, and using water-activated tape on rigid mailers; since doing that, scuffs vanished. Small caveat: in humid weeks the glassine can blush, so I send a quick β€œtest mailer” to myself first. It’s sunscreen for paper before the post office tries to sunburn it.

I add a biodegradable poly sleeve inside kraft; @Guide’s WAT lifts fibers when damp.

I float kraft stacks inside rigid mailers with 1/8" foam rails so the faces never touch β€” edge bruising vanished. If you’d rather skip foam, use corrugated U-channels and, per @mason_lew89’s WAT note, add a mini desiccant so humidity doesn’t undo the seal β€” tiny airbags.

I’ve had fewer scuffs by wrapping the face in reused Tyvek offcuts, adding two small silica packs, and snugging the stack between kraft boards with a light paper belly band β€” no moisture, so the fibers stay put. If @Guide’s WAT is lifting fibers, try cold‑seal paper tape or low‑tack labels for closures; not the greenest option, but better than a return for β€œfuzzy” kraft.
