Why visuals matter in book sales

Having just designed a cover for a local author’s debut novel, I realized that the right visuals can truly make or break a book’s success. I spent hours researching color palettes and typography that resonate with the target audience, and it paid off big time. Anyone else have experiences where specific design choices transformed a project?

I totally agree that visuals can be a game-changer. For my last project, I found that using a bold, contrasting color really stood out on shelves and online. Have you ever experimented with unconventional layouts? Sometimes that can really capture attention.

It’s amazing how the right visuals can grab attention like a shiny object does for a magpie! I recently used bold typography to convey emotion, and it really spoke to readers. Have you tried any unique fonts that surprised you, @miller18?
