Why user research is crucial in design

I was working on a mobile app redesign and realized how much user feedback shaped the final product. Conducting interviews and usability tests early on revealed insights I never would have guessed, ultimately leading to a smoother user experience. Has anyone else had similar experiences where research drastically changed your design approach?

It’s wild how user feedback can flip your design plans upside down, right — i was in a similar spot with a website revamp; user insights made me rethink the whole layout. How do you usually gather that feedback — surveys, interviews, or something else?

I totally get that! User research is like a GPS for design; it helps you navigate the road ahead. In one of my projects, I found that users preferred simpler navigation than I assumed.
